POSTMODERNISM |
Born in Dublin, she was educated at Trinity College and the National College of Art and Design. She is now a full-time artist and divides her time between her Dublin studio, the family home in West Cork, and summer workshops in Crete. As well as producing works for exhibitions, and executing commissions, she also gives regular courses on watercolour art, for beginners upwards, both in Dublin or West Cork. See her website (below) for details. Influenced from an early age by Impressionism, Levis has a loose style, but one perfectly suited to her subject matter, whether it be the raw coastline of Ireland or the softer rainbow locations of the Mediterranean. And her treatment of light, heat and water is uniformly impressive. Not surprisingly, her works have been exhibited in solo as well as group shows in numerous galleries and exhibitions. These have included: the Bobby Dawson Gallery, Dun Laoire; the Powerscourt Town Centre, Dublin; City Hall, Cork; West Cork Arts Centre, Skibbereen; Lahinch Art Gallery, Co. Clare; Miriam Bailey Gallery, Bandon, Co. Cork; Village Framers Gallery, Dublin 14; Hungry Hill Art Gallery, Adrigole, West Cork; Colebreene Exhibition, Malone House, Belfast; and several Art Ireland exhibitions at the RDS, in Dublin. |

Levis' works are represented in public
and private collections across Ireland, including The OReilly Institute,
Trinity College Dublin; St. James Hospital, Dublin; as well as private
collections in England, France, Germany, Greece, USA and Australia. Our Opinion An outstanding watercolourist! We strongly recommend that you visit her website to see more of her beautiful work. Visit: www.levisart.com.
