Founded in 1878, the Corcoran College of Art and Design offers 4 years
Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in the majors of fine
art (drawing, painting, digital media, ceramics, printmaking and sculpture);
photography; interior design and photojournalism.
The college also offers Bachelor of Arts in contemporary
art, museum culture, theory and studio practice as well as writing
in the arts. The college was founded a few years after the Corcoran Gallery
of Art, to which is it associated. The gallery houses 17,000 and is considered
one of the best American collections of art
in the world.

Established in 1789 Georgetown University educates nearly 16,000 students
