Founded in 1866, Carleton College is a private, small liberal arts college
based in the historic town of Northfield. The college offers 37 majors
and 15 concentrations in the arts, humanities, social sciences and natural
sciences. Majors are offered in various types
of art including: Art & Art History and Studio Art, as well as
Music and Theater/Dance. Courses in art include: Watercolour
Painting, as well as Gouache
and Acrylic Painting; Printmaking
(intaglio, relief printmaking, lithography, silkscreen & letterpress);
Paper Arts; Sculpture; Ceramics; Woodwork; Digital Imaging; Advanced Film
and Digital Photography; Metals (metalsmithing); Advanced Painting &

About
Founded in 1924 the College of Visual Arts is a private, 4 year college
of art and design offering a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BA) degree in fine
arts, illustration, photography, graphic design, interdisciplinary art
and design studies. The fine arts degree focuses on drawing, painting,
sculpture and printmaking. The interdisciplinary art and design studies
degree is focused on fashion. A typical foundation course in art
includes study in: figure drawing,
sculptural practices, figure painting,
visual geometry, introduction to printmaking, art since 1945 and contemporary
issues in art. To graduate with honors, students must successfully complete
6 honors courses.
