About
Founded in 1885, the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) is a 4 year college of art and design. KCAI is organized into 4 schools: School of the Foundation Year (first year program for freshman students), School of Fine Arts, School of Liberal Arts and the School of Design and Electronic Arts. KCAI offers a bachelor of fine arts degree (BFA) in various types of art including 13 majors in: animation, art history, ceramics, fiber, painting, sculpture, illustration, printmaking, creative writing, digital filmmaking, digital media, graphic art and photography. Students hold an annual exhibition at the colleges’ popular contemporary art gallery, H&R Block Artspace. Famous past students include animator Walt Disney (1901–66) and pop artist Robert Rauschenberg (1925–2008).

Maryville University, Art Department, St Louis

About
Maryville offers NASAD Accredited undergraduate programs in studio art, art history, graphic design, interior design and interactive design. Students can also receive a minor in art or art history. Additionally the School of Education offers the art education program (K-12 certification) for students wishing to pursue an art teaching career. Studio Art can lead to a BA or a BFA. The Studio Art BFA Honors program gives outstanding students majoring in Studio Art the chance to pursue an individually designed course of study. After meeting general University admission requirements, to enter the Arts Department students need to submit a portfolio of works which demonstrate creative ability, perceptual skills in drawing, and basic understanding of 2D and 3D design (line, texture, space, colour and movement).

University of Central Missouri, Department of Art, Warrensburg

About
Founded in 1871 the University of Central Missouri (UCM) offers 150 programs of study leading to an associate degrees, certificate, bachelor degrees, master degrees, education specialist degree and cooperative doctorates. All programs run by University of Central Missouri's (UCM) Department of Art are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. Programs are 4 years and include Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Studio Art: Painting, sculpture, printmaking and ceramics. Other courses offered are Illustration, Interior Design; Commerical Art; Graphic Design and Art Education.

Tuition Fee: In state students: $5,859 per semester and out of state students: $11,718 per semester.

University of Missouri-Columbia, Arts Department

About
Founded in 1839 the University of Missouri-Columbia is part of the prestigious Association of American Universities. The Department of Art was founded in 1877 and has produced many internationally renowned professional artists. The Department has 240 undergraduate majors (BA and BFA programs) in areas such as drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, fibers, photography, graphic design and digital/video media, and ceramics. Art Education students can enroll for a number of art courses as part of their Bachelor of Science in Art Education degree. MU is the only college in Missouri to offer the terminal MFA degree. The art studios are well equipped with photography labs, papermaking/fiber facilities, a bronze casting facility, anagama kiln, large cinema monitors and large format Epson printers. The Department of Art also runs the George Caleb Bingham Gallery, which is ideal for student and visiting artist’s exhibitions.

Tuition Fee: Graduate $8,500 per semester and graduates $5,800 per semester.
